On November 16, 2021, the Coordination Council of Russian-Armenian organizations (CC RAO) sent an Open letter to Russian President V. Putin.
Open Letter of the Coordinating Council of Russian-Armenian organizationsto the President of the Russia V. Putin in connection with the act of armed agression by Azerbaijan against Armenia
Mr. President,
The Coordinating Council of Russian-Armenian Organizations (CC RAO) has repeatedly made statements condemning the unpunished crimes of the Azerbaijani authorities, as well as appeals to the Russian President about these crimes, about the inadmissibility of “equidistance” and a belated response to ongoing crimes.
November 16 this year Azerbaijan unleashed another large-scale military action, invading the sovereign territory of the Republic of Armenia – a member of the CSTO, a strategic ally of the Russian Federation.
We urge you, Mr. President to respond properly to the appeal of Republic of Armenia and to take real and effective steps in accordance with the concluded treaties and commitments towards the Republic of Armenia, in accordance with the responsibility of the host country of the USSR, in accordance with the responsibility of a member of the UN Security Council, co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group, in accordance with the side and guarantor of the statement of November 9, 2020, in accordance with the CSTO Charter, the UN Charter and the UN principle of the responsibility to protect (R2P).
This is not about support for the former or current authorities of Armenia, it is about the Armenian people, about the peoples of Azerbaijan itself, which are held hostage by the genocidal pan-Turkist policy of Azerbaijan, it is about continuing crimes against humanity, it is also about threats to the security of the Russian Federation itself.
The Coordinating Council of Russian-Armenian Organizations
