On November 2-3, 2021, an international online conference “The UN responsibility for the protection of the cultural heritage of ancient peoples from cultural genocide” was held in St. Petersburg, Russia.
Three co-organizers were from the Republic of Artsakh, the Republic of Armenia and the Russian Federation:
- the Ministry of education, science, culture and sports of the Republic of Artsakh,
- public organization of sociological and political science initiatives “Khachmeruk” (“Crossroad”),
- Public Institute of political and social research of the Black Sea-Caspian Sea region named after V.B. Artsruni.
The conference was dedicated to the 70th anniversary of the entry into force in 1951 of the UN Convention on the prevention and punishment of the crime of genocide adopted in December 9, 1948.
24 experts from 9 cities of five countries (4 from St. Petersburg, 4 from Moscow, 1 from Simferopol, 4 from Armenia, 7 from Artsakh, 3 from the USA, 1 from Great Britain) took part in the conference.
