In addition to committing tortures and beheadings, the Azerbaijani armed forces defiled and destroyed the Holy Savior Ghazanchetsosts Church of Shushi, The Zoravor Surb Astvatsatsin Armenian Church in Mekhakavan, the Surb Yeghishe Church of Mataghis, and other Armenian churches, and destroyed Armenian cross-stones in Talish, Hadrut, Shushi, and other Armenian communities in Artsakh.

The reason of these acts is the state-sponsored policy of Armenophobia and enmity; a policy which has both religious and ethnic bases. In the videos depicting Azerbaijani atrocities towards Armenians, the cases where the Azerbaijani servicemen are acting out of religious fanaticism are numerous.

It is evident that the Azerbaijani state is pursuing a policy of genocide on ethnic and religious grounds against the entire population of Armenia and Artsakh.
